Writing Blog Posts

Create a blog post, assign a category and featured image, control when it goes live, and understand what appears on your blog index page.

For the full feature reference, see the Blog documentation.

Create a post

  1. Go to Dashboard → Blog and click New Post.
  2. A blank draft is created immediately and you land in the post editor — nothing is public yet.
  3. Enter a Title. The post's URL slug is generated from the title automatically (you can customize it).
  4. Write the body in the rich text editor, and add a short excerpt — the summary shown on blog listing cards and used for the search description.

The body is optional — a post can be a photo gallery or FAQ set with no written article at all (see content blocks below).

Categories

Each post belongs to one category.

  1. Pick the category on the post edit page.
  2. Categories are managed alongside the blog and can be renamed at any time.

Visitors can filter the blog index by category, and blog rows you place elsewhere on the site can be limited to a single category.

The featured image appears on blog listing cards and at the top of the post.

  1. On the post edit page, click Pick from media library next to Featured Image.
  2. Choose an existing image or upload a new one — see Managing Images and Media.
  3. To swap it, click the image; to remove it, hover and click the red X.

You can also click the Generate with AI button next to the Featured Image label to create an image from a text prompt, optionally using the post's title and content as context, and save it straight into the library as the featured image.

Content blocks: CTAs, galleries, and FAQs

A post can carry any number of three extra block types, managed in the Content Blocks panel:

  • CTA button groups — calls-to-action with your site's button styling.
  • Photo galleries — multi-image grids picked from the media library, with click-to-zoom.
  • FAQ sets — question/answer accordions.

By default each block is appended to the end of the post in the order you arrange them. Turn off a block's auto-append toggle and place its shortcode (shown next to the block, e.g. [[gallery:summer-trip]]) anywhere in the body to position it manually.

Publishing and scheduling

Every post has a status:

Status Visible on the blog index Reachable by direct link
Published Yes Yes
Scheduled No, until the publish date No — visitors see "not found" until then
Draft No No (dashboard only)

To schedule a post, set its published date to a future date — it stays off the public site until then.

While a post is a draft or scheduled, click View Post to preview it at its real URL — you'll see it because you're logged in, while visitors get a normal "not found" page.

What shows on the blog index

Your site's /blog page lists published posts, newest first by published date. Each card shows the featured image, title, and excerpt. The index page itself is built from design library rows, so you can restyle it in the page editor like any other page — and you can drop blog listing rows (grids, carousels, featured-post layouts) onto any other page, such as the homepage.

SEO and translations

  • Each post has its own meta title, meta description, social-share image, and a "hide from search engines" toggle — see Improving Your SEO.
  • On multilingual sites, post titles, bodies, and SEO fields can be translated per language, manually or with Auto Translate — see Translating Your Site.
