Creating a Contact Form

Build a contact form in the dashboard, drop it onto a page, and receive submissions by email and in your dashboard — no third-party form service needed.

For the full feature reference, including spam protection details, see Forms and Submissions.

Create the form

  1. Go to Dashboard → Forms and click New Form.
  2. Pick a Type to start from a template:
    • Contact — First Name, Last Name, Email, Inquiry
    • Job Application — adds Phone, Position, Cover Letter, and a Resume upload
    • Photo Contest — adds a Photo upload and a Terms checkbox
  3. Give the form a Name and, if you want email alerts, a notification email (more below).
  4. Continue to the field editor.

The starter fields are just a starting point — every field can be changed, removed, or reordered afterwards.

Edit the fields

The form editor shows your field list on the left, the selected field's settings on the right, and a live preview in the middle.

  1. Add fields from the New Field menu. Available types: single-line text, email, phone, multi-line text, file upload, checkbox, dropdown, radio buttons, checkbox group, and a note block for instructions or terms text.
  2. For each field, set the label, optional placeholder and help text, and whether it is required.
  3. Use the width setting to place fields side by side (for example First Name and Last Name on one line).
  4. For file uploads, choose the allowed file types and a maximum size.
  5. Reorder fields by dragging in the list.

You can also match the submit button to your site's button styles with the form's submit-button style option.

Add the form to a page

  1. Open the page in the page editor and add a form row from the design library — the contact category includes form layouts, and the in-row item picker has a Form widget too. See Adding Rows from the Design Library.
  2. Pick which form the row should display.

The form is shown by reference: editing the form later updates every page that uses it automatically. The Forms list has a "Used on" column showing exactly which pages display each form — check it before deleting a form.

Where submissions go

Each submission can go to two places, and both are on by default where it matters:

  • The dashboard archive. Dashboard → Forms → Submissions lists every submission newest-first, with each answer labelled and file uploads available as download links. Saving submissions can be turned off per form if you only want the email.
  • Email notifications. If the form has a notification email, every submission is emailed to it. Enter multiple addresses separated by commas. Leave it blank to skip emails entirely.

Spam protection

Every form is protected out of the box — the built-in protection requires no setup, no API keys, and shows visitors no puzzles. If you prefer Google reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare Turnstile, configure their keys under Dashboard → Settings → API Keys and choose them as the site default or per form (the per-form option is under the form's Advanced section; most forms should stay on the site default).

Suspected spam isn't thrown away: when the form keeps an archive, blocked submissions land in a Spam tab on the Submissions page, each labelled with why it was caught and with a Not spam button to restore false positives to the inbox.

Quick checklist

  1. Create the form and tidy the fields.
  2. Set the notification email and send a test submission to confirm delivery.
  3. Add the form to your contact page via the page editor.
  4. Check Dashboard → Forms → Submissions after launch — and glance at the Spam tab occasionally.
