Demo data is the fastest way to see how WebProCMS behaves with a real-looking site: populated blog listings, an events calendar with entries, location pages, sample forms, and content-type listings — all without typing a word yourself. It's also completely reversible.
Where to find it
Go to Dashboard → Tools (in the Develop group of the sidebar). Two cards matter here: Seed Demo Data and Delete Seeded Demo Data.
You may have already seeded some of this during Installation — the installer's demo-content checkboxes run the same seeder. The Tools page lets you add more categories later or top up anything you skipped.
The Seed Demo Data card
Tick the categories you want, then click Seed Data. Seeding is safe to run multiple times — nothing will be duplicated; re-running simply restores anything missing.
Main categories

Content types
Below the main categories is a Content types section with one checkbox per sample content type, so you can seed exactly the ones that fit your site:
- Minutes — meeting minutes with dates and notes
- Services — service listings with summaries and images
- Portfolio — portfolio items with galleries and categories
- Projects — project records
- Job Listings — career listings
- FAQs — questions and answers
- Reviews — testimonials
- Team — team member profiles
- Clients — client records (linked from Portfolio items)
Each seeded content type arrives complete: the type definition, sample records, and ready-made listing and detail pages on your site. See Custom Content Types for how content types work.
While it runs
After you click Seed Data, the card shows progress — "Seeding in progress — this may take a minute..." — and then reports success or failure. Seeded items are flagged internally as demo content, which is what makes clean removal possible later.
The Delete Seeded Demo Data card
When you're done exploring, the matching delete tool removes demo content by category. Content you have added manually is not affected — only records created by the seeder are removed.
Tick what to remove:
- Blog posts & categories
- Events
- Locations
- CRM contacts, companies & deals
- Content types (the sample types and their records)
- Demo forms
- Navigation items
- Seeded pages (listing/detail pages that were created for seeded content)
- Knowledge Base articles (only the seeded documentation — articles you wrote yourself stay)
Click Delete Demo Data and confirm in the dialog. You can re-seed any category again afterwards if you change your mind.
Tips
- Seed everything on a fresh install to explore, then delete it all in one pass when you start building for real.
- Keep Navigation items if you'd rather adapt the sample menu than build one from scratch — it's often faster.
- Seeded images land in the Media Library like any other upload, so you can see how image management works with real files.
